SLO: Meetings on Friday
- SLO Simplified Template (Word, 38 KB – 9/24/20)
- "They should use the simplified SLO and put it into SCLead. The template in SCLead reflects the simplified version. " Anna F. Carroll (Human Resources Director)
Interims:
- Interim Reports - must be sent to all students preK-12th grade. Please use the paper copy for all primary students and the PowerSchool progress report for grades 3-5.
- The elementary 3-5 interim reports will be emailed by the district directly to parents via PowerSchool on October 9.
- Since the issue date for interim reports falls on Friday, October 9, you can send primary progress reports home with students in cohort A on Monday, October 12 and with students in cohort B on Wednesday, October 14.
- A few of you mentioned using the primary progress report in PS for the interim, however Kelly shared with me today that it is being re-written due to a recent PS upgrade and it will not be accessible for the first interim.
- As a reminder, please monitor grades closely for all brick and mortar teachers. Please use the following or a similar statement for students who may not have an adequate number of grades in any content area:
- Due to your child's recent change from HCS K12 virtual to brick and mortar, your child may not have a grade in one or more content areas. Please remember that you can review your child's grades at any time via the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher with any questions regarding your child's progress.

K-2 Progress Monitoring (Tina Matthews and Ashley Johnson) -
Due to our current hybrid instructional model, we will be unable to follow normal progress monitoring protocol at this time. In order to ensure we provide students with adequate time to show growth, we will be progress monitoring all students the week of October 19-23. During this week please plan to progress monitor students in the following areas:
If there is a Passport or BURST student who was progressed monitored the week of October 11th, you do not have to do another progress monitoring in the same area during the week of October 19th.
I will be glad to help you test if needed, but I will have to pull the student at a time other than workstations. I have intervention groups most of the morning.
Please let me know how I can help,
~Nita

- Pre/Post Knowledge Checks - Pre/post knowledge checks are to be administered in base schools following the same guidelines established last year. Although they can be time consuming, these assessments should be administered on face-to-face days to ensure the validity of the data. As always, every instructional moment is precious so setting testing "norms" for time allowed is important. The use of these assessments are not REQUIRED for virtual students but are available for virtual teachers if they choose to use them.
- 3rd Grade Social Studies Weekly: Studies Weekly Newspapers are currently being delivered to schools. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
