2021 Gamecock Athletics Virtual School Programs
I want to introduce myself: my name is Bailey White and I am the new coordinator for Read with the Gamecocks and Active Gamecocks here at South Carolina Athletics. With this year being so different, I would like to invite you to participate in our new virtual programs this year.
For those who might be new to South Carolina school programs, Read with the Gamecocks and Active Gamecocks are incentive-based programs that help promote the importance of literacy in elementary and middle school-aged children and combat increasing problems in childhood obesity. This year both programs can be accessed online where classrooms can register for the program, print goals for their class, as well as find additional activities. Each program allows classrooms to a two-week window (14 consecutive days) to challenge their classrooms to hit a reading or active goal. The due date for all submissions to be in is Friday, April 30th. At the end of those two weeks, classrooms then submit the top achievers of their classrooms, where top winners will receive a signed certificate from Cocky.
For those who have participated before, we have revamped both programs to hopefully make it as virtually friendly as we can, and accessible to all. A few new changes:
Please let Carol know if your classroom will be participating in this contest.
