Schedule this week:
NEW: Special Areas: 2nd Semester Calendar | Consultant Visit: Wednesday |
Mask Reminder (Mark) -
As previously shared, please continue to be firm regarding the wearing of masks. Students and all staff should be wearing masks at all times except during appropriate mask breaks.
NEW - Survey participants in order to verify IDRA completion status reports (Angela Rush and Melissa Westbury) -
Our Agreement with the Department of Justice requires all core content teachers instructing Multilingual Learners to be trained in sheltered content instruction. Over the past four years, many HCS employees participated in IDRA coursework and WIDA online modules. In an attempt to ensure we have accurate data, we are asking that participants who took part in this training complete this Google form. This form will ask participants to log their successful completion of Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3 coursework. Please share the Google form link with your staff and ask that they complete it by Friday, March 12, 2021.
NEW - IDRA Consultant Coaching (Angela Rush) -
Per our Agreement with the Department of Justice, the 15 hours of coaching support should expand upon the sheltered content instruction coursework and provide support to teachers in using and applying these strategies. IDRA Consultants have been scheduled to work with your staff.
SAVE the DATE: IDRA (Sheltered Instruction) Coaching Consultant - Thurs., April 29th during PLCs
Additional On-going S.I. District Training in TNL:
EDM
If you have students that are struggling to access their personal EDM account and they can’t access their games, please send me their names and let me know the issue. Paula will be glad to check on it. Most of the time, she can fix it without contacting McGraw Hill.
Freckle and ALEKS
Now that we are back in school five days a week, don’t forget that your students have access to Freckle (Primary) and ALEKS (Elementary) to support differentiation. These are a great resource to support students that are struggling with certain math content. The expectations for our digital content are linked for ALEKS. The district will work on creating some expectations for Freckle soon.
As previously shared, please continue to be firm regarding the wearing of masks. Students and all staff should be wearing masks at all times except during appropriate mask breaks.
