~Felisa
Like in August, a Google Site has been created to share the listing of virtual professional development sessions that will be offered to HCS educators on Monday, February 15th. Meeting links are also included on the site to assist educators with easily accessing sessions.
HCS educators can access the site using this link.
https://sites.google.com/g.horrycountyschools.net/professionallearning/home
A tutorial video has been provided as a resource for using the site and Truenorthlogic. Feb. 15th Virtual PD Site Tutorial
In order to receive professional development credits, all participants must register for sessions prior to February 15th in Truenorthlogic.
Session facilitators will send email reminders and session updates or changes to enrolled participants through the email feature in Truenorthlogic. Sessions will begin to release in Truenorthlogic on Monday, February 1 between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM.
Because sessions will be hosted virtually, having available seats in most sessions will not be an issue. Please share this information with your staff, so they will not stress as much over the registration process in Truenorthlogic. However, please note that there are limited seats for the cooperative learning sessions.

Learning Specialists:
ELA Digital Content (Ashley Johnson)
As we prepare students for returning 5 days face-to-face, we need to think about how to ensure we are honoring the intention of our digital content programs so that they continue to be used effectively. Ideally, when students return face-to-face we would like to go back to expecting our traditional norms for using our digital content programs. The only exception will be that we are not going to reset time students can complete articles in Achieve3000 to school hours only. That way it will be available if a class or school has to return to a virtual schedule on short notice. Please take the next 2 weeks to help parents, and students prepare to return to our traditional expectations for these programs.
Dibels8 (Tina Matthews)
Progress Monitoring (PM) has looked a little different this year. District PM dates are: February 22- 26 and March 29- April 1. Please mark your calendars to PM all K-2 students who are At Benchmark (Green) Below Benchmark (Yellow) Well Below Benchmark (Red) during these dates. Please be reminded that these dates are the required PM dates. Intervention students or others deemed as needing additional monitoring can and should be monitored more frequently.
Feb. 15 Staff Development (Learning Specialists)
We are so excited to spend Feb. 15th with those of you who will be signing up for sessions! You are encouraged to sign up for sessions as soon as possible. Many of the sessions we are designing will include breakout rooms, and we would like to organize those strategically. TNL opens Feb. 1st at 3:30!
