With the recent announcement that elementary schools will be going back to 5 days, we have received a few questions concerning the iPads. Please let us know if you have any questions.
With the recent announcement that elementary schools will be going back to 5 days, we have received a few questions concerning the iPads. Please let us know if you have any questions.
- iPads will still be allowed to go home with students for the remaining of the year due to unknown circumstances that may arise due to COVID, unless requested by parent for device to remain at school
- Students will need to be reminded to charge devices daily (like they currently are doing on the days they attend in person)
- Additional charging cable or brick will not be provided by Technology.
- K-4 iPads are covered under Apple Care insurance for 2 breaks per year. If a device is broken more than 2 times, the school will be contacted for an account number for repairs
- Reminder:
- iPad moves/adds/changes are to be sent to [email protected],
- contact Help Desk for account issues
- contact your DIS for APP request

Learning Specialist Information:
ELA {Ashley Johnson}
District-Wide TDA:
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the week of Feb. 22-26! During this week, each grade level will need to set aside time to give our District-Wide TDA. Information about logistics, documents, and ideas will be forthcoming.
Math {Paula Mullis}:
Everyday Math:
With students starting back face to face next week, it would be beneficial for teachers to begin mapping out the rest of the year for EDM lessons. Our goal is quality over quantity for lessons. We can have Kara work with grade-levels to develop a plan for teaching all standards by the end of the year even though we may not finish the EDM book. If you need support with this, please reach out to me.
Science {Kim Inman}:
Science Leadership Team:
With new standards coming up in science, I am looking to create a team of leads in science. These teachers and coaches would participate in our adoption and preparation of new standards work in science for the next few years. This work would take place in the summer and after school hours. Once the teams are created, I am willing to work with schedules to get as much participation as possible.
If you would like to be nominated for this work, please reach out to Carol. I would like to get some representation from each school in the district, if possible. I am looking for all grade level recommendations but could really use some kindergarten, second grade, and fourth grade suggestions.
SS {Kelley Wiltrout}:
Digital Portfolio Sessions!
It is strongly recommended that any 4th grade teacher who has not attended the 2020 fall series attend the February 15th “Supporting Digital Portfolios” session. This session is perfect for any teacher getting started or any teacher needing additional support! It is being offered four times throughout the day.
Time: Section #:
8:00 - 9:30 38070
9:30 - 11:00 38071
12:30 - 2:00 38072
2:00 - 3:30 38073
Social Studies Curriculum Surveys
Although this is a bridge-year for implementing the new 2020 social studies standards, all current curriculum (created this past summer) is designed to support full-implementation of these standards. Now that teachers have had some opportunity to plan and to utilize the curriculum guides and resources, we are asking for feedback in order to make revisions, to strengthen documents, and to add needed resources. Please share the following Google form surveys with your teachers. We ask that the surveys be completed by Friday, February 19. Their feedback is greatly appreciated and will be used to drive spring curriculum work. Thank you!
