Clever Sync and Digital Resources
Thank you for your patience as we are waiting on Clever to sync with our system and have the 2020-21 students placed in our digital content. While we are waiting, please remember:
EDM Resources on Important Lessons for Unit 1 and 2 for each grade level
Social Studies {Kelley Wiltrout}:
Digital Portfolios in 4th Grade Social Studies
Attention 4th grade teachers; THIS LINK is the first virtual professional development sessions. They will be offered Wednesday, September 30. You may register now in TrueNorthLogic.
Course #29960 Getting Started with Digital Portfolios in 4th & 5th Grade Social Studies
(All sessions will be recorded for those who cannot attend)
4th Grade Group 2 (BES, FES, LKES, SSES, SES, SJES, SJIS, MBES, MBPS, OBES, ODES, ROES, RES, WWES) should register for session #37604.
Please know that this only applies to “brick and mortar” teachers. This is not part of the virtual school program. A sample parent letter will be forthcoming to explain the transition from an end-of-unit multiple-choice assessment to portfolios.
3rd Grade Studies Weekly
Studies Weekly newspapers have shipped and should be arriving at schools within the next week. They will come bundled by the teachers’ names submitted last spring; Teachers and students will be rostered in Studies Weekly online once everything has been updated in Clever.
4th Grade USA TestPrep for Social Studies
Teachers and students will be rostered in USA Test Prep for 4th grade social studies. Once again, this is dependent on Clever.
Constitution Day
Constitution Day is September 17. Please remember that this is a federal “mandated” celebration for all schools. Classroom activities can be found HERE.
All Content Areas:
Planning for 4 days with ESOL and Special Ed Students
As you are aware, identified ESOL and Special Education students will be attending school four days a week following schedule G. They will participate in synchronous work on A days; on B days, they will complete their asynchronous work in the classroom where you will be able to provide support as needed. However, initially, you may have them participate in the repeated lessons on B day. Consider A day lessons as pre-teach lessons for the B day lessons. Use B days as a way for students to be actively involved in the lesson and showcase what they have learned. As you and students acclimate to this new learning environment, B day for these students will evolve to better meet their specific needs.
Digital Content for Virtual Students
Virtual students will have access to all of our digital content - ALEKS, Freckle, Achieve 3000, Lexia, etc.
Recordings of September 1st Professional Development
We have linked the recording of sessions on the professional development website sheet for teachers to access or they can access them at this link
Happy first week of school everyone!
ELA {Ashley Johnson}:
Digital Content:
- The Lexia placement tests have been reset. The 1st time students log in, it should prompt them to take the placement test. If a student's account does not prompt them to retake the placement test, please let me know and I will get it reset for you. Teachers should strive to only allow Lexia use during SGI workstations on in-person days in order to monitor student progress closely. If students are unable to complete all of their goal minutes on the 2 days they are in school, then arrangements can be made for them to complete the rest at home.
- Achieve3000 classes are rostered and ready to begin using for the 20/21 school year. Students will be prompted to take the level set test the 1st time they log on.
- Please remember to activate your Learning Portal account and claim your licenses for CSC and BAW. Directions can be found HERE. You will also find great resources that pertain to how to adapt these programs for remote learning under the Implementation tab. Here is the Remote Learning Guidance document for BAW.
