Read to Succeed Educator Coursework (Jeanna) -
Emails have been sent to SJE teachers who have not currently met the R2S Educator Endorsement Requirements for June 2021 certificate renewal.
Please remind all educators that pre-enrollment for coursework opens in TNLogic on Monday 11/16. This will be the final opportunity for educators to take R2S courses this school year. Any certified educator with a professional certificate is required to attain the R2S Endorsement.

The shipment of African Dwarf Frogs for the third grade Environment and Habitats (Animal Studies) has been delayed. The animals should arrive Tuesday. Please email Kim Hudson and Kim Inman if you have any questions.

Day 2 Language! training will be offered on Friday, December 4 virtually. This will be a half-day training. Many teachers completed the Day 1 training in July. If there are teachers that may need a refresher, they are welcome to join this meeting as well. HERE you can access a sign-up document for this training with Mary Landry. I will send out the google meet link to the teachers that are signed up. This includes interventionists as well as SPED teachers.

Your statement of Intent Form for the 2021-2022 school year can now be accessed using the TRASI program. All current employees must complete the form online. You may access the TRASI program by logging into the HCS Portal.

If you are interested in a transfer, please review the information listed below:
· You may apply for open positions from February 1, 2021 – June 1, 2021. After this date, you will no longer be eligible to apply for a transfer.
· All available vacancies will be posted on the Horry County Schools website in our online application system – AppliTrack.
· You must complete an online employment application for vacancies posted online in order to be considered for a transfer.
· You must inform your current supervisor prior to submitting an application.
· Teachers must meet the following requirements in order to transfer:
· The online application must be completed as an internal applicant. Applications from current employees will not be accepted if they are completed as an external applicant.
· Include three professional reference letters with your application including one from your current supervisor.
· Updated resumes, cover letters and certifications (if applicable) are required and must be uploaded as document attachments.

Additional Meals Provided by HCS Food Services (Kim Johnson) -
Beginning November 17th, meal kits will be sent home on Tuesdays and Thursdays containing 2 breakfast meals, 2 lunch meals, low-fat milk and juices. Thank you for working with your cafeteria managers to ensure an efficient system for distribution for students.

All of the YouTube video links in the social studies curriculum guide were given SafeYouTube links to ensure students could view them in a safe and friendly way without any distractions or unrelated or offensive comments. SafeYouTube is now VideoLink. Since SafeYouTube.net links may cease to work at some point in the future, all video links in the social studies curriculum guides have been updated to the new “video.link” URL. - Please remember our goal is to get students to meet their goal minutes and units each week while they are completing workstation activities during their face-to-face days. But with us only being in school 2 days a week and students receiving intervention instruction during that time, we know that meeting those minutes/units is proving to be a bigger challenge than past years. DO YOUR BEST to get students close to those goals, and then please remember that YOUR BEST IS ENOUGH:) If it is not possible to meet the goals, that is completely understandable. Quality of minutes over quantity is perfectly fine right now. Our district average is showing that most students are able to get 50 minutes of usage during their 2 face-to-face days.
- Please remember. The only students who should be using Lexia in 3rd-4th grade are students who are receiving ELA SpEd services. General education students {including students receiving intervention services} in 3-4 should be using Achieve3000.
