NEW - Technology Fee Clarification (Velna Allen) -
Horry County Schools offers parents/students the opportunity to pay a $25 technology fee. It is not a required fee; however, if the parent elects not to pay the fee, he/she assumes all responsibility for the device issued to the student. If the device is damaged, the parent must pay all repairs. The fee is not required for a student to be issued a device.
Regardless of whether the fee is paid or not, parents must pay the replacement cost for a lost device. If a parent pays the $25, it will cover repairs made to the device.
If a student owes technology fees from the 2020-21 school year, he/she will not be issued another device or charger until the fee is paid.
Parents who elect to pay the $25, may do so at the school when they pick up the student device OR through MyPaymentsPlus.
NOTE: IF A STUDENT DID NOT RETURN A DEVICE THAT WAS ISSUED LAST SCHOOL YEAR, HE/SHE WILL NOT BE ISSUED ANOTHER ONE UNLESS THE COST OF THE DEVICE THAT WAS ISSUED LAST YEAR IS PAID.
