NEW - READMarathon Results (John Zoccola, Read with Malcolm) -
The results are in! The 26.2 Days of Reading are in the Books.
READMarathon has concluded and there is a clear winner. Horry County Schools!
At the halfway point, we challenged you to up the total number of students logging minutes to 20,000 - and to log a total of 15 million minutes of reading.
Know what you did? You crushed that challenge and per usual, exceeded all expectations.
Listen to this. You had:
28,349 HCS students read for 18,936,677 minutes!
That represents:
Don't take too long to rest because READBowl is right around the corner! It kicks off January 9, runs four weeks, with Malcolm crowning the World Champions of Reading on Super Bowl Sunday. Your kids will compete to read the most minutes, win great prizes, make the leaderboard and for a chance to meet Malcolm. We have several guest stars lined up to motivate your students to read even more and lots of fun Bowl game excitement for reading coming your way. And even better news is, it is a team competition only, so you will only need to report one total amount of minutes for each team (rather than for individual students). While you compete nationally, you can compete against each other as well.
More info coming shortly. Now the challenge is to crown a world champion in HCS! I know you can do it!
