Science Kit Pickup
Science kits are to be ready for pick up on May 5. The drivers will begin pick up at 8AM on May 8. Please remember any missing kits are the responsibility of the teacher to return to the science center. Don’t forget to make sure any long-term substitute teachers are aware of this to ensure all materials are returned to the center at the right time.

NEW - Early Learning Office - Professional Learning Opps for Summer and Fall 2023 (SCSD) -
The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) Office of Early Learning and Literacy (OELL) supports South Carolina’s (SC) districts and will offer several free professional learning opportunities (PLOs) for teachers, teaching assistants, reading coaches, instructional coaches, and administrators. Furthermore, to improve educational outcomes, Child Early Reading Development and Education Program (CERDEP) legislation requires all personnel providing instruction and classroom support to participate annually in a minimum of fifteen hours of professional development including topics related to teaching children from poverty and strategies and techniques to address the age-appropriate progress of emergent literacy.
The PLOs will consist of virtual and face-to-face experiences focused on early learning and literacy instructional strategies that have a direct impact on student learning. The Office of Early Learning partners with other state-level early childhood agencies to plan and host virtual learning opportunities focused on children aged birth through five. THIS ATTACHMENT provides PLO details that will be offered during summer 2023 and fall 2024.
