We are scheduled to start the mulching process Aug. 24th. All playgrounds will be getting mulch. I am sorry for the inconvenience ahead of time but we want everyone to be safe and allow this process to be seamless as possible.
EPIC No Longer Accessible - Encourage Use of SORA (Ann Moore, Michelle Ammann) -
EPIC can no longer be used to access books due to challenges with vetting. Therefore, links to materials in EPIC that are currently linked in curriculum documents are inaccessible and in the process of being revised. This is a work in progress, but will be completed as soon as possible. As discussed last spring, SORA is available to access reading materials to support instruction. SORA materials have been fully vetted.

ELA Standards Revisions Draft and Request for Feedback from Stakeholders (Ashley Johnson) -
We are excited that the ELA standards revision draft has now been made available and feedback is being requested from all stakeholders. Please keep in mind when reviewing the standards revision draft, it is important to note that the content is very much the same, but the format is quite different.
Below you will find a link to a memo from the State Department outlining details regarding the ELA Standards Revisions as well as a link to the ELA Standards Revisions Draft. As a result of the dedicated efforts of a team of South Carolina educators from school and district levels, consultants from institutions of education and research, English language arts (ELA) team representatives from the Office of Assessment and Standards, as well as partners from the Office of Early Learning and Literacy, the 2022 South Carolina College- and Career-Ready English Language Arts Standards are now available for field review and feedback through online feedback surveys. The established standards development, review, and revision process provides an opportunity to ensure South Carolina’s high-quality standards are based on current research and best practices and meet the varied educational needs of our state’s students.
The draft of the standards can be accessed on the South Carolina Department of Education website under the English Language Arts Standards page and by clicking this link: https://ed.sc.gov/instruction/standards-learning/english-language-arts/standards/
All stakeholders are invited to review the standards draft and provide feedback using the online feedback forms by September 5, 2022. The feedback surveys were developed, with permission, using the criteria for assessment of standards found in The State of State Standards Post Common Core report published by Fordham Institute in 2018. The field review feedback surveys can be accessed via the memo located HERE.
