- Instructional Task Artifact Folders: Click HERE to access folders for each instructional task listed on our standards overview document.
Math (Paula and Meagen)
- If you are struggling to get your classes set up in ALEKS, please let me know. Paula will be glad to help.
- It is now appropriate to move a child to the next grade level in ALEKS if they are at 85% mastery. If you make them wait until they achieve 100% mastery then they could become frustrated and not give their best because it is very hard to achieve.
- NWEA MAP Accelerator - Unregistered or Unactivated Students - If you are seeing this error for some students, please use the steps below until we can find a solution through the company or on our side.
- 1, The teacher should login and go to their class dashboard.
- 2. Click on Students.
- 3. Click Share Class Code and get a link.
- 4. Share this link with students that are unregistered or unactivated via Google Classroom or email.
- 5. Have students click the link and login using their HCS G.horry email and password. From here, students can access the program as normal from Clever.
- All Science Kit Trainings for the year are currently available for sign up in True North Logic. Kindergarten training begins at the end of this month and Rotation 2 trainings start in October. Teachers are encouraged to sign up and mark their calendars for the dates throughout the year. Signing up now will help us plan for the trainings and correspond with the teachers attending.

NEW - Student & Teacher of the Month / Football Fans' Choice Awards! (Bessie Wilson with Waccamaw Publishers) -
My name is Bessie Wilson and I work at MyHorryNews/Waccamaw Publishers. I wanted to let you know about two contests/promotions that we are running for the 2021-2022 school year and one contest/promotion surrounding Horry County Football!
This is our third year running our Teacher of the Month campaign. Anyone can go on and nominate a teacher in Horry County that they think deserves recognition for all that they do. People can vote everyday! Whichever teacher has the most votes by the end of the month will win a plaque, $50 prize provided by our Teacher of the Month sponsor, Window World, and a follow-up story/interview in our Business Journal, which is inserted into 4 of our weekly papers!
You can view September Teacher of the Month here: https://bit.ly/3mTUocW
This is our second year running our Student of the Month campaign! Run same way as Teacher of the Month, people can go on and nominate students in Horry County Schools that they think should have recognition for being an awesome student! The student with the most votes by the end of the month will receive a plaque, $50 prize provided by our Student of the Month sponsor, Ray Winters Attorney at Law, and a follow-up story/interview in our Business Journal, which is inserted into 4 of our weekly papers.
You can view September Student of the Month here: https://bit.ly/3mRuINM
Each month the ballots resets so people can nominate their favorite teachers and students again at the beginning of each month!
Please feel free to share with your faculty, staff, parents, and students for their chance to participate. You can find the updated contests at the start of each month at www.myhorrynews.com/contests !
We are also running our Football Fans’ Choice Awards. People can go in and nominate a football player, coach, cheer squad, and more in our ballot and vote everyday! Whoever has the most votes in their category by the end of the contest (November 12) is the category winner and they will receive a plaque. We are planning an awards banquet for the category winners like we did in 2019, invitation to follow for the winners. You can access the ballot here: https://bit.ly/3g9sOE0 This contest is a great way to create momentum around the football season and create some fun competition among players and schools in Horry County.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Given the challenging year we’ve had with the uncertainties around COVID-19, we really want a way to highlight and celebrate students and teachers in Horry County.
