8/17/2021 Information Regarding Currently Quarantined Students
Please remind teachers that they should only fill out their name, employee ID#, school, week, and number of students. They should then sign and date the form. I will then sign the form, and Cassandra will electronically calculate the total amount before submitting to payroll.
*An updated, forthcoming form will be sent to bookkeepers and principals to reflect daily instruction rather than weekly instruction. We will notify you when we receive it.
- Ensure you have two-way contact with students or parents of students who are quarantined. Put this information in PowerSchool as a Log Entry.
- Ensure arrangements are made for device pick up if students do not have a device at home. Mindi will generate a list showing students who have paid their tech fee. iPads may not go home if a tech fee has not been paid. If this is not an option, the teacher will provide alternate assignments or paper/pencil assignments as necessary for pick up. Teachers of the same student will need to work together if paper assignments are provided to prevent multiple trips to the school for parents.
- District has approved allowing parents to pay the tech fee on a payment plan so students can take devices home when quarantined.
- Teachers are responsible for instruction.
- Teachers who are not quarantined and have students who participate in distance learning because they are quarantined will be paid for the additional duties as follows:
- The teacher should submit the appropriate timesheet for each week he/she teaches student(s) who are participating in distance learning.
- The teacher will be paid at the following rate per week:
- HL1 – pays the initial $40 per period/course taught
- HL2 – pays $10 for each student taught
- Teachers will contact parents to provide information relative to distance learning including attendance, instructional schedules, meeting links, and other relevant information for instruction.
- If students do not login or complete assignments, the teacher will contact the parent and document in log entries. Two-way communication must be established by the teacher. If necessary, the teacher will work with the appropriate administrator to contact student’s parents who are not actively engaged in distance learning.
- Teachers will follow all HCS grading procedures and protocols. (Number of assignments in each category, weighting, and timelines for grading and posting assignments in PowerSchool)
- Teachers must record student attendance in PowerSchool.
- Nicolette's form will be used for attendance purposes.
- Suggestion:
- Make a copy of the email from the nurse and attach it to your time sheet FOR YOUR RECORDS.

Facebook posts:
Please be careful what pictures you post on your classroom Facebook pages. Pictures can be deceiving and students may appear to be closer than 3 feet apart. Please revisit the pictures you have posted this week and make sure students are not too close to one another.
Grouping students together for a photo is not permissible.
If you are unsure and need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
